Halter Tops
-- Featured Comments --
Seriously. Farmers need to put up ads on youtube, with cute hipster-ish girls wearing halter tops and Native American headdresses, picking peaches or corn. Advertise unpaid internships involving getting back to the land; living in a tent; plenty of fresh air and sunshine; helping local food systems and sustainability, yadda yadda. There are enough unemployed or under-employed college grads out there; who knows?
It's all a matter of marketing.
(I can't take credit for this Read more [...]
Non Comedogenic

Doctors don't know how to ask questions.
The problem with doctors is they try to quantify the unquantifyable.
I went to three specialists for a body itch for two years with one exclaiming like "Eureka!-it's folliculitis!"
Turns out one day I was curious and bought Pear's transparent soap (a 200 year-old company). It was non-allergenic and non-comedogenic (doesn't clog pores).
One shower stopped the itching!
CAUTIONARY NOTE: They recently changed the formula but after Read more [...]
Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge

"Imagination is more important than knowledge"...Einstein This is a concept that Asian school systems do not encourage through rote learning. The Chinese are very good at copying technology and inventions from other countries...especially American. What ground breaking product have the Chinese invented in recent history? I can't name one. I will take American ingenuity over Chinese test scores any day. There is a reason Westerners are leading in Science. My Chinese friend (I Read more [...]
Cfa Designation
-- Featured Comments --
To Omri and Yves: Although I tied to be civil and apologize for any misunderstanding about I called a "quack" theory, you have decided to denigrate what you believe to be my "finance" profession because I use my CFA designation behind my name.) Once again, what this 'article" talks about is that more and more sources of conventional oil have been discovered since the Hubbards book came out in the early 70's. The question is is whether we are facing energy Armageddon at present Read more [...]
Young Black Girls
-- Featured Comments --
Then you know nothing about the 5,000 lynchings that occurred in the South between 1877 and 1965. Typically, crowds of hundreds or thousands of white Americans would gather and hang a black American until he died, often burning the person alive or cutting off body parts to keep as souvenirs. The atmosphere would be celebratory, with music, drinking and picnicking.
Likely within your life time were the bombings of black churches and homes of civil rights leaders, including Read more [...]
Non Performing Assets
-- Featured Comments --
It's time to stop emphasizing government or Federal Reserve actions designed to sustain unwitting decisions to leverge with debt purchases of non-performing assets like houses. Let those assets prices fall according to market demand. It's also time for the Obama administration to tell employed consumers to spend.Moynihan needs to sweep this mortgage securities mess under the rug as fast as possible, by disposing of non-performing assets through assignment to Fannie/Freddie...and Read more [...]
Bank Of Taiwan

I just took a Taiwanese friend of mine to the airport. (I use the word "Taiwanese" to mean a real Taiwanese person...someone who speaks the Taiwanese language at home.)
I asked him when will the China-Taiwan situation be resolved and some very interesting points came out. These steps are hard to number "1, 2, 3..." because they feed back....so forgive the confusion...
Two important initial steps are One Chinese Currency and One Chinese Military. But One Chinese Military Read more [...]

Budget Deficit By Year
-- Featured Comments --
Oh, Lord. All they're doing is plotting budget deficit by year. It's public knowledge."...Between now and 2036, the government, which has spent the money held in reserve, will have to borrow to meet those obligations..." That statement is false. By law, Social Security cannot contribute to the budget deficit. The Social Security Trust Fund consists of Treasury bonds. When the bonds are redeemed, the money comes from Treasury's General Fund -- NOT from borrowed money, but from Read more [...]
Italian People
-- Featured Comments --
"Condemnation" is not enough. Can not be. They sound like Italian politicians when they condemn the mafia (I am Italian, born and raised there). But at least Italian people protest in the street and try. Some of them get killed by their own people in the attempt to better them and to fight the horror. I can not trust people who talk but do not much else - other then expanding their cult buildings in the name of "peace" - to extirpate the cancer that is growing within their Read more [...]
